How Adil Baguirov is Changing Education?
Adil Baguirov has vacated his chair in Dayton school as being one of its board members, seeking for new opportunities. During his tenure, he has been involved to a number of things in further improving the educational system.
Adil Baguirov Dayton has been telling that education is not finite and it doesn’t begin when the morning bell at school rung and ends at dismissal more so, it doesn’t start on your first day as a kindergarten and finishes on your graduation, it is more of an ongoing process.
What is saddening for Mr. Adil Baguirov in this modern world is that, passing the exams, giving the correct answers and achieving goals are the main focus of our education system. As a matter of fact, there are countless of things that are being missed in the process which can later develop lifelong learning. And no, this isn’t a new idea introduced in the public instead, it is long overdue and many studies can back this up.
Number 1. Learning should be relevant – it will be easier to learn and grasp new skills in the event that it is something that we need. For instance, students who are studying how to measure and calculate the area of a land to which they’ll grow a garden will probably need a formula in calculating the area. At one point, they’ll find a way to figure out how which will broaden their knowledge and learning.
Number 2. Extrinsic rewards – Adil Baguirov do believe that giving people rewards for activities they find enjoyment on are diminishing their motivation. In other words, if your children love reading and they start receiving stars or stickers for reading 30 minutes a day, it is likely that they’ll lose interest and have less pleasure from reading sooner or later.
Adil Baguirov Dayton believe that these rewards should be reserved when it is only needed most to motivate people to do things they don’t enjoy much. With this in mind, the learning that comes with grades only becomes just learning for the sake of grades and not for added knowledge. Truth is, there are countless of students who graduated college with honors but can’t remember the content they’ve learned once the test is done.
Number 3. Group study – through collaborative learning, it pushes students to express themselves, think for themselves while also learning from others in the process. By the time they leave school, it is crucial for students to initiate a collaborative study. Yet, our current education system is insisting to test them one by one and encourages to compete than to collaborate, which is what Adil Baguirov Dayton try to rule out.
